In another incredible performance, Oksana Masters bagged her third Paralympic medal at this year’s Beijing Winter Paralympics. She won the silver medal for the Women’s Middle Distance Sitting competition and brought glory to her nation. She is creating history as she won her 13th Olympic medal. Masters is turning tides at this year’s Winter Paralympics.

Her compatriot from the USA, Kendall Gretsch, won the gold medal while German skier Anja Wicker took home the bronze medal. As for Masters, she is having an Olympic Games to remember.

Oksana Masters wins 13th Paralympic medal

Masters had spoken about the current global crisis in her mind when taking part in the competition. As her homeland is in Ukraine, she was affected by what happened with the country right now.

She took home a sensational victory and won her third Paralympic medal which includes one gold and two silver medals. A proud Masters spoke about her achievement and could not believe what happened.

“I am BEYOND proud of myself today. Knowing I have to work twice as hard for my shots which means losing time in the range, I?m so proud of myself to put together perfect shooting,” said Masters.

After the 2020 Summer Olympics at Tokyo, she returns after six months and is performing well, yet again. She won medals in both the Summer and Winter Olympics.

Focused on her shooting

When she came to compete, Masters wanted to make sure of her shooting quality in the event. The Biathlon includes shooting along with skiing. Hence, she loved the competition this time.

“I was not expecting it. On the last stage you’re not supposed to think, ‘Don’t miss the shot, don’t miss the shot’, but I was totally thinking, ‘Don’t miss the shot’. I know I’m not a fast shooter and I’m not a consistently accurate shooter, so I knew I had to just take a good shot and make it count every time. That also means I’m in the range for about a minute at a time, which is where the time went,” said Masters.

The sensational Masters is winning medals and is already heading to a sensational Paralympics.
