When a soccer player decides to hang up their boots, they often have limited options. Sure, they can spend more time with family or stay connected to the sport by becoming a coach or analyst. However, many choose a different path and seemingly fade from the spotlight. For Carli Lloyd, she was caught between these choices, but the question remains—where is she? especially since she has been absent for a while from NWSL broadcasting.
Well, technically, it’s not only the USWNT icon’s television absence; she has been socially adrift as well. Sure, her Instagram tells a different tale, as she constantly posts about enjoying her daily life. But specifically, we are talking about her X (Twitter activity). Despite the 2025 NWSL season having kicked off, she hasn’t been posting her thoughts on any of the happenings so far.
This somehow forced a user on X with the handle @matweeds to catch up with the 2x World Cup winner. Hours ago, the netizen posted a question saying, “How is @CarliLloyd coping right now?” Interestingly, within a few minutes, there was a reply from Lloyd, who retweeted saying, “I’m coping on my couch, loving time with our daughter, and enjoying life!”

Sweet! Honestly, that exactly sounds like a real retirement—taking plenty of rest while spending time with your loved ones. In fact, we aren’t surprised that she’s currently occupied otherwise. Last year on October 18, Lloyd gave birth to her first child, daughter Harper Anne Hollins, which she shares with husband Brian Hollins.
The official announcement came a couple of days later. “So very grateful for this amazing blessing in our lives. By far the hardest thing I have ever endured but the best thing I’ve ever done!” She wrote in the caption while sharing her baby’s first-ever picture among her million followers on Instagram.
For Carli Lloyd, birthing her daughter wasn’t even one stop short of a miracle. Carli went through a difficult fertility journey, involving two unsuccessful IVF rounds before finally succeeding on the third attempt. It was somewhere around May when the new mom shared the joyful news. And, ever since giving birth, she has embraced her motherhood in quite a fashion. That surely means it will still take her quite some time before she finally makes a return to those broadcasting shows. Then again, there are exceptions!

While some of the posts featured some adorable clicks of her baby daughter, others were about Lloyd playing golf and playing turf soccer. However, what may catch many off guard is the last picture, where she could be seen sitting with revered figure Arielle Houlihan and former USWNT teammate Leslie Osborne, who are apparently the co-hosts of Front Sports Office-produced podcast show called Redefined with Leslie & Arielle.
