The past few days have kept Trinity Rodman quite busy painting the town red. First, the USWNT star kicked off her weekend by celebrating the birthday of her elder brother, DJ, which even included some light-hearted embarrassment. Now, she is commemorating the birthday of the woman who brought her into this world, Michelle Moyer. As the ex-wife of NBA icon Dennis Rodman turned 58, Trin decided to rather toast her mom with a heartwarming message.
Having taken a break from NWSL action, the Washington Spirit superstar was earlier set to fly to London in order to manage her back injury. Her team will be eagerly awaiting her return once she’s healthy. In the meantime, however, she hasn’t remained idle, making her family a priority. To mark her mother’s special day on April 27, Trinity took to Instagram and shared a carousel post featuring pictures with her.
As if sharing those never-before-seen pictures wasn’t enough, the 22-year-old forward even wrote a lengthy message. “Happy birthday to my queen ❤️ mama where to begin with you,” Rodman began. “I know I can be a pain in your a$$ at times but I love you more everyday. I always deny that we are similar but I think we go at it sometimes because I am becoming more like you as the years go on.”

Backing Michelle for her strength, kindness, and selflessness, the 2024 Paris Olympian expressed her gratitude for having a mother like her. Interestingly, Trinity even dubbed herself Moyer’s “favorite child,” describing herself as a “smaller version” of her mom — someone who can instantly sense whenever she is sad, mad, anxious, happy, proud, or disappointed.

“Never had this type of love for someone the way I do for you. Thank you for raising me the way you did and continue to do every day. Wouldn’t change our life for the world. I also wouldn’t be here today doing what I’m doing if you weren’t the way you are. Love you forever mama. Here’s to so many more years of life and experiences together ❤️❤️,” concluded Trinity.
Indeed, it is quite a heartwarming message from the Newport Beach native—a complete contrast to what she did for her brother instead. For context, among the many stories Trinity shared while celebrating DJ’s birthday and highlighting their bond, one particularly stood out—a throwback video of the Maine Celtics star showing off his let’s say, rather unique dance moves. She captioned the clip perfectly: “BETTER BE DANCING LIKE THIS TONIGHT MY BOY 😂😭😤 @djrodman.”
Notably, while DJ and Michelle share the same birthday month, Trinity shares hers with her father, Dennis. The NWSL star will be celebrating her birthday next month on May 20, while her iconic basketball father will celebrate his own a week earlier, on May 13. Speaking of which, it was not long ago when her strained relationship with her father made the headlines again.

Trinity Rodman snubbed Dennis for a surprise shoutout to mother
It’s no secret that Trinity Rodman has always had a complicated relationship with her dad. The following years saw the Spirit forward literally describe her bond with Dennis Rodman as “beyond repairable.” Earlier, after winning gold in France with Emma Hayes and Co., Trin sat down for an interview with NBC’s Today.
There, she was asked about her father’s reaction to her winning the Summer Games tournament while also standing out for her nation. The response, you ask? With a long pause, she said, “Nope [did not hear from my dad], but my mom was there,” Trinity remarked. “She gave me a big ol’ hug.”

It’s no surprise, given past interviews, where she’s openly been critical of her dad and even talked about how the ex-Lakers star once ruined a game for her with his presence. In fact, Dennis himself once revealed that he “was told not to show up” during games to support. With all that said, could you imagine Trinity Rodman doing something special for Dennis Rodman?
