Guess who’s in town? Ardent WNBA fans might already have a clue, especially as they remain fully engrossed in all the latest draft happenings. The newest acquisition by the Washington Mystics is none other than Georgia Amoore. The Australian native has signed a four-year deal and is now looking forward to embarking on a new journey. Though it’s only been a matter of hours since the 24-year-old arrived in town, she’s already making new friends, with none other than Trinity Rodman being the latest to extend a warm hand of friendship.

Wasn’t the crossover you were expecting, eh? Well, that’s exactly what seems to be the theme this year. From the looks of it, Amoore has chosen the estranged daughter of Dennis Rodman as her new bestie. It all comes from a minute-long clip shared by WNBA on X. Initially, the clip features Amoore taking a seat beside a basketball on a subway rail, wearing wired earphones. She clicks play on the special video message curated for her by Trinity.

“Hey Georgia, it’s Trinity here,” begins the Washington Spirit forward. “Just wanted to give you a huge congrats on being drafted. Welcome to the WNBA. Happy you are with the Mystics.” Rodman then sends an NWSL game invite to Amoore, insisting the 22-year-old would love to host the latest addition to the WNBA. “Hopefully, we can get you out to a Washington Spirit game. Get to hang out, do whatever.”

Interestingly, the Newport Beach native then touches on a topic, which we bet must have left Georgia blushing. “I’m very honored and happy that you’re a fan of mine. I’m just, I don’t know, very excited to see what you do now on your new journey. And yeah, happy for you. Congrats,” concluded the 2024 Paris Olympian in her heartfelt message.

As soon as the message ended, Amoore was left in disbelief. Looking at the cameras, she quickly stated, “That’s the best thing that I have ever seen in my life. Like how did you [even manage to do that]” Before she could even complete her sentence, the former Kentucky star herself confessed how big of an admirer she was of Rodman.

“Trinity, DM me, I’ll give you my number. We’ll work on plans. I’ll come on to the games… actually, I’ll [be coming to] more than one game. I’ll be there, I’ll be there on the stands. I’m your biggest fan. I’m so excited that it aligned that I’m with the Mystics. But yeah, actually now that my fans go ergo, I really appreciate it and that’s very cool. Just a huge thank you,” concluded the former Virginia Tech star.

Looks like the whole Washington town is about to witness the start of a new friendship. In fact, by the time you all are reading this, both must have already exchanged their numbers and even marked their calendars for a potential meeting. Even though Rodman is younger than Amoore, the 2025 WNBA draft talent is a huge fan of the NWSL superstar’s soccer skills.

The Washington Mystics have their own Trinity Rodman now!

Just like Trinity Rodman turned heads in the soccer world at 18, Georgia Amoore has proven herself to be a rising star in basketball. At only 19, she left her home country and moved across the globe to chase her dreams. Initially arriving at Virginia Tech, she had an impressive four-year run, highlighted by a trip to the Final Four and an ACC regular season title.

If you look back at her 2022-23 season with the Tech, Amoore’s performance was equally strong. She averaged 16.3 points, 3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game, earned ACC Tournament MVP honors, made the First Team All-ACC, and played a key role in the Hokies’ Final Four journey.

Meanwhile, in her lone season with Lexington, the All-American guard posted standout numbers, averaging 19.6 points and 6.9 assists per game. She also shattered Kentucky’s single-season assist record and set a new school record for the most games with at least seven made 3-pointers in a season.

On top of that, Amoore joined an elite group alongside Caitlin Clark and Sabrina Ionescu as one of the few Division I players to rack up over 2,300 points and 800 assists in a career.

Our heads are spinning after hearing all those numbers! Georgia Amoore is a perfect addition to the Washington Mystics. While her journey with the WNBA side will be exciting to watch, we’re even more curious to see how her bond with Trinity Rodman blossoms.
