Admit it—we all have that one person we admire more than anyone else. And when it comes to a celebrity, you’d probably jump at the chance to answer the question: who would you rather have dinner with if given the opportunity? The choice was surprisingly ‘easy,’ for someone like Carson Pickett. The NWSL star snubbed over names like Taylor Swift in favor of the evergreen Serena Williams.

Of course, we know this isn’t what the Swifties would like to hear. But we would at least recommend hearing why exactly Pickett could make this kind of choice quite easily. More importantly, how did we even end up here? Well, it all begins with a small game called “Would you rather” in which the Orlando Pride star featured during an interview with INDIVISA.

In the clip shared on Instagram, questions came in for Pickett, with whom she would rather have dinner – Williams or Swift. Interestingly, without taking any time to think, the American left-back replied, “Serena Williams. Easy.” Further explaining why she selected the tennis icon, Pickett’s response was based on a previous meeting with the 23X Grand Slam winner.

“So I actually was with her in Paris. I went to Paris for the Olympics with Nike. She was part of the group I was in and she kind of led us and talked to us and we had dinner with her. So we had a really nice dinner actually together,” explained the 31-year-old.

Call it fate, because even though Pickett missed out on representing Emma Hayes’ USWNT at the Olympics, she still made it to Paris. And she even met her idol. Regardless, her answer must have impressed Williams if the tennis icons must have heard this. On the contrary, this isn’t what Swifties would have expected to hear.

One cannot deny the fan following the renowned American singer. Swift boasts over 282M followers on Instagram, compared to Serena’s 17.2M followers. Then again, one cannot blame Pickett for her choice. She knew she wanted to choose someone from her own profession. That also explains why she made another surprising yet understandable choice in another situation.

After being presented with the selection to choose either Serena Williams or Taylor Swift, Carson Pickett got another pick to choose from. This time, it was between Kim Kardashian and Chicago Sky star Angel Reese. Once again, the NWSL star decided to shake hands with someone who shares the same career line as her. She picked the WNBA star who hails over 5.8 million followers on Instagram.

“I would say Angel Reese because I’m just a big sports girl. I actually think it’s really cool to get to talk to people and get to know people outside of soccer but still have some things in common,” admitted Pickett. She snubbed Kardashian, who boasts a whopping 358M Instagram followers. Not to mention that the renowned American influencer and businesswoman takes her own kind of interest in soccer.

Fans often see Kim Kardashian visiting stadiums with her kids like PSG’s Parc des Princes and Arsenal’s Emirates. She even once flew to Saudi Arabia to see Cristiano Ronaldo in action for a friendly game. Additionally, Kim has used her influence to see her kids meet with revered names like Bukayo Saka and Dele Alli and also met the whole Real Madrid team. She also visited Inter Miami’s Chase Stadium to watch Lionel Messi.
