Soccer star Megan Rapinoe presents her best self every time she enters the ground. The athlete has been captaining the OL Reign of the National Women’s Soccer League for a long time. Her skills in the field and activism off the field have never let fans down. Hard work and talent led her to the success that she deserves. Apart from fans, Rapinoe is very concerned about her elder brother Brian Rapinoe.

The iconic athlete once spoke about her brother mentioning that it’s a loss to have him behind the bars. 

Megan Rapinoe shares a special bond with her brother

Turning towards soccer since high school, Megan Rapinoe got a good hang of it. Being a woman, the athlete got prejudiced at every step of building her sports career. Nevertheless, some people constantly supported her, her brother being one of them.

In 2019, Megan Rapinoe bagged the second Women’s World Cup title with her team. Furthermore, she even captured the Golden Ball, which is given to the best player.

Opening up to ESPN about her brother, Rapinoe spoke about how special Brian is. According to the athlete, her brother has much more to offer to the world, but that won’t be possible with prison sentences to his name. 

My brother is special. He has so much to offer. It would be such a shame if he left this world with nothing but prison sentences behind him,said the soccer star, Megan Rapinoe.

Brian Rapinoe was undergoing a rehab program in San Diego, recovering from drug addiction back then. Due to this, he couldn’t join the crowd and cheer for Megan. Nevertheless, given their strong bond, they did text each other every day.  

Megan idolized her brother

Since childhood, Megan had a strong connection with her brother. Whatever he did, the next moment, one would find Megan doing the same. Brian Rapinoe started taking drugs when he was only 12, which came as a shock for Rapinoe.

I worshipped him. He played left wing, so I played left wing,” said the athlete. “He wore No. 7; I wore No. 7. He got a bowl cut, so I did too.
