As if paying a record $110 million expansion fee wasn’t enough to turn heads, Denver really can’t seem to stop making bold moves. The 16th NWSL franchise has already made quite an impression—well before kicking off their league journey in 2026. In their latest development, the club has made a huge hiring, officially naming Jen Millet as their first-ever employee and team president.
If you feel like this name is ringing some bells, well, you’re not wrong. Millet was the Chief Operating Officer of another NWSL expansion team, Bay FC. She had joined them back in July 2023. The accomplished sports and entertainment executive successfully guided the 14th league franchise in their inaugural 2024 campaign. However, now expect Millet to do the same for a new club. The news came via the team’s official communications.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jen Millet to Denver NWSL as our club President,” commented Denver NWSL controlling owner Rob Cohen. Apparently, it was revealed by Cohen that Millet stood out among an extensive list of qualified candidates. He cited her deep understanding of soccer, experience in building world-class brands, ability to engage the community, and passion for fostering a culture of excellence as key reasons that made her “the ideal fit to run our club.”

“Our ownership group is committed to providing Jen the resources she needs to grow and evolve Denver NWSL as the club takes shape,” added Cohen, hoping that the club’s first employee really takes them a notch above their expectations. Likewise, Millet, also a Denver native, expressed her excitement about joining a groundbreaking franchise, calling it a “dream come true.”
“I am passionate about building a club that not only excels on the field but also fosters a strong connection with our diverse community. Together, we will create a culture of excellence and innovation, bringing the joy of women’s soccer to Denver and inspiring the next generation of athletes. I can’t wait to get started!” said Jen.
Notably, Millet hails an experience beyond the beautiful. Before leading day-to-day business operations for Bay FC, she was working for NBA-based Golden State Warriors as a Chief Marketing Officer. Her prior experiences also saw her work for Pandora Radio, StubHub, and Live Nation. Now, having arrived at the Mile High City, she now braces herself to embrace a new business operation role in Denver.
The $110 million franchise stated that Jen’s day-to-day work will also have her oversee the club’s partnerships, ticket sales, marketing, and venue operations. More importantly, Millet will also help the team devise their new name while also making key additions to the team for both on and off-pitch purposes. In the meantime, she may get familiar with the club’s recent achievements

The 16th NWSL side is really off to a great start!
On Monday, Denver NWSL revealed that it has become the fastest club in league history to hit 10,000 season-ticket deposits. Of course, this is a milestone that no other team has ever reached before. While achieving this feat at such an early stage is nothing short of impressive, it’s not entirely shocking either. That’s because they had already secured 5,280 deposits just three days after opening them.

Even without an official name, roster, or team colors, the Denver franchise is already rallying a strong and enthusiastic fanbase. Perhaps that all stems from their prior announcement of their ambitious plans to build a new stadium. In fact, the project is not ordinary, as it is being touted as the largest financial commitment ever made toward a women’s professional sports team.

It is set to be constructed in Santa Fe Yards, a place situated at Broadway and I-25. More than being the second team to build a dedicated venue for a women’s soccer team after KC Current’s CPKC Stadium, they are creating a lively entertainment hub.
Clearly, even before making their debut, the newest NWSL side has managed to achieve a lot.
