You know what makes the heart swell with joy? Watching Christen Press back in action on the field. Well, the day has come! Angel City FC is all set to light up the 2025 NWSL season opener this Sunday, squaring off against San Diego Wave FC at BMO Stadium. But this game isn’t just about goals and glory—it’s about heart. The two teams are joining hands for the support of the Los Angeles community after the January wildfires. And in true Angel City fashion, they’re making sure the love extends beyond the pitch. The Seats of Strength program allows fans to buy tickets for first responders and those affected by the fires, and the club will match each ticket purchased to increase the support.
A game with purpose? Now that’s a win before the first whistle even blows. But before the action kicks off, there’s an extra-special moment brewing—one that’s bound to steal the show. And even before the game kicks off, there’s an extra dose of excitement—Christen Press is introducing a young family star to the scene!
Christen Press just gave the internet a wholesome overload! On March 15, she hopped onto Instagram Stories to introduce the newest (and furriest) member of the Press-Heath squad—a precious pup named Bobbi. With a simple yet adorable introduction, she wrote, “World, please meet Bobbi.” And just like that, a star was born! But she didn’t stop there—because when you’ve got puppy content this good, you’ve got to share it far and wide.

Over on her Instagram feed, Christen dropped a full-blown Bobbi appreciation post, packed with heart-melting puppy pics and some sweet family moments featuring both her and Tobin Heath. And because she’s got jokes, she threw in a little social media experiment, writing, “I can’t tell if the algorithm is burying my content or if y’all just don’t like my pics anymore. 🤪 so here are 13 puppy pics to test my theory.” Safe to say, Christen wins—because who could possibly scroll past that much cuteness?

The first slide? Christen simply holding little Bobbi captured, giving that look which can melt everyone’s heart. Then came Tobin, smiling broadly as she cradled the little four-legged friend in her arms. But it didn’t stop there! Next up? A montage of happiness: all three of them posing in front of the mirror, Tobin sleeping on the couch with Bobbi lying beside her, and so many selfies.
And the grand finale? The one that touched the hearts of people most—Bobbi dozing off in the warm sunlight on the couch like a little king. If that isn’t peak serenity, what is? And let’s not forget—Christen is a true animal lover, through and through, and she’s even got a history of rescuing!

Christen Press and Morena!
Christen Press has achieved the dream of a lifetime–being a World Cup champion, an Olympian, and even posing for ESPN’s Body Issue. But perhaps, the most revolutionary moment in her life was the one that involved Morena, her four-legged friend. This little puppy was saved from an Oakland recycling center and she was not only a companion, but a member of the family. According to Christen, Morena didn’t just find a home; she became home. “They ended up saving us,” she shared, reflecting on how her rescued dogs transformed her world. “You know, who rescues who?” And honestly? She’s got a point. These furry angels did not come into her life to give only wagging tails and hugs; they introduced her family to a new kind of love that knit them even more tightly.

And Christen is not alone in this mission as well. Back in 2021, she joined another soccer star, Alex Morgan to campaign for the adoption of pets rather than buying them. These two powerhouses understand that is that rescue animals aren’t just pets, they are members of the family. Alex, a total dog mom at heart, gushed about her own pup, Blue, saying, “We’re not owners—if anything, he owns us. He owns our heart.” And if that doesn’t sum up true love, what does?
Alex also got real about why she chose adoption over breeders, pointing out the heartbreaking reality that far too many animals are left without homes. “There’s so many animals on the streets and so many animals [who] aren’t able to live the life that they should be able to live,” she said. To her, pets should be as much loved and valued as a child–pampered, adored, and provided with a loving home with lots of cuddles and sweets. And honestly? She and Christen Press are out here proving that scoring goals isn’t just for the soccer field—it’s for giving second chances to the ones who need it most.
