Are NWSL Games Televised? Know in Detail About US Soccer League’s Broadcasting and Live Streaming

The countdown for the 2025 NWSL season has begun. 14 clubs will once again be gearing up to face each other for the 26-week-long domestic tournament that is set to kick off in March. As teams keep up with their off-season preparations in order to keep a strong foot in the competition, the meantime saw the stakeholders release the new season’s schedule.

While Matchday 1 will begin on March 15, the 2025 NWSL Challenge Cup will take place a week before, on March 7—a game played between the respective winners of last season’s Shield and Champions Cup. But since Orlando Pride secured both trophies, they will be pitted again in front of Washington Spirit.

This certainly brings another concern in the minds of fans as to how exactly will they catch all of the action live; more importantly, another question looms whether these games are televised or not. Fear not, as we have curated down all the answers to your concerns.

All about the 2025 NWSL broadcasting details

One shall recall that last year, a historic $240 million broadcasting rights agreement was signed by the NWSL with four media partners that include CBS Sports, Amazon Prime Video, ESPN, and Scripps-owned ION. So expect the same in the second year of this deal, where the following broadcasters will be showcasing the games. However, that doesn’t mean one won’t be able to catch the action live on television.

Aside from these four streaming mediums, ardent NWSL fans will be able to catch the action live on the respective channels of service providers, including ABC, CBS Network, ESPN, and ION. That’s not all, as the remaining few matches will be aired on Paramount+ and NWSL+. There is good news as few NWSL clubs are even exploring the option of securing a local broadcast option for ardent fans to enjoy an alternate viewing option.  

It is important to note that a similar pattern will be followed to broadcast games; meaning Prime Video will air Friday night matches, ION will air Saturday night double-headers, and CBS and ABC/ESPN will air matches on Saturdays and Sundays. Latin American audiences need not worry as they will be able to catch the action live on ESPN Deportes in Spanish commentary.

The league is expected to take a short CBA-mandated break between June 23-29 and another in July due to various international confederation tournaments. Likewise, the season will be concluded with its featured NWSL Decision Day, where all 14 teams will be playing their final regular season game before heading towards the playoffs.

2025 NWSL regular season schedule

The match coverage for the 2025 season is distributed among several broadcasters. CBS Sports will air 11 matches on the CBS Television Network, 10 on CBS Sports Network, and 39 simulcasts on Paramount+ and NWSL. ESPN’s coverage includes 3 matches on ABC, 10 on ESPN, and 4 on ESPN2. Prime Video will feature 25 Friday night matches, while Scripps Sports will broadcast 50 matches on ION, including double-header coverage on Saturdays and a special triple-header on Saturday, June 14. Additionally, NWSL+ will stream 30 matches.

After the end of the regular season, the 2025 postseason kicks off with the quarterfinals from November 7-9 where two of the quarterfinal matches will be aired on ESPN/ABC, while CBS/Paramount+ and Prime Video will each broadcast one of the remaining games. The semifinals will take place on November 14-16, featuring one match on CBS/Paramount+ and the other on ESPN/ABC. Finally, the NWSL Championship will carry forward on November 22.
