2024 was full of surprises and no one knows it better than Alex Morgan. From facing an unfortunate snub from Emma Hayes‘ Olympic team, followed by a poor domestic team run, the USWNT icon announced her retirement but with a pinch of good news by revealing her second pregnancy. This new year is no different when it comes to pleasant twists, as Morgan has finally disclosed the gender of her second baby, leaving the soccer community in awe.

Life has been quite happening for the iconic forward ever since she hung up her boots. The family has surely become a priority as Alex, along with her husband Servando Carrasco and daughter Charlie are expecting a fourth member. Interestingly, the former San Diego Waves forward found some time to do a gender reveal for her ardent fans in a unique way by collaborating with a baby registry-based platform called Babylist.

Sharing a minute-long video of herself on Instagram, Morgan added a caption saying, “Fully embracing baby #2 energy! So much has changed since Charlie, but @babylist made it easy.” Additionally, in the video, the 36-year-old revealed that even though she is pregnant, the ex-American forward was able to stock the nursery for the upcoming child with the help of Babylist. “I’m two months out from baby No. 2 and I haven’t even gotten started yet. Not even close. It’s giving baby No. 2 energy,” Morgan said.

Though Morgan left her fans guessing at the beginning of the video regarding the gender of her second baby, there came a few signs later, like buying a tiny, adorable pair of blue Nike Jordans. However, it was a matter of time until she finally revealed the biggest surprise by taking out a sweater from the Babylist bag that read “Little brother.”

“Last surprise that I wanted to share with you guys… Charlie’s gonna be a big sister and we’re having a little boy. We’re so excited to finally share with you guys and see little baby boy arrive back home from the hospital in his new fit,” added Morgan while announcing the heartfelt and surprising news. Morgan, her husband and daughter will be over the moon to welcome the baby boy to the house. No wonder this news has lit up ardent fans like a Christmas tree!

From unboxing the launch of new soccer cleats or jerseys to unveiling baby products for her upcoming baby boy, it’s remarkable how far Morgan has come as she embraces motherhood for the second time with pure joy. Indeed, congratulations and celebrations had to be in order as it surely is good news for the USWNT icon’s 9.8M Instagram followers. The comments section was filled with love and support for the former Tottenham Hotspur star as everyone wrote their best wishes.

This certainly isn’t the first time Morgan is carrying a child but the excitement for this one is special not just for the 2x World Champion, but even for her fans as they eagerly await the arrival of the baby:

Though Alex would have been happy with either a girl or a boy, she told People that she thinks her daughter, Charlie “was very excited to have a brother and not have a baby sister in the future be stealing all of her clothes” like Alex did with her own sisters. Now that Charlie won’t have to worry about her clothes, she will be looking to become the best big sister in the world to her little brother. So, a fan made sure to extend their best wishes to the five-year-old as well:

We wonder why Morgan and Carrasco didn’t keep a special gender reveal party by inviting their loved ones and guests over. Then again, partnering with a baby registry-based company and creating a video to subtly reveal the gender of their upcoming child was no less than a pleasant surprise. Some fans, however, already had a hunch that it would be a boy. “Wait… not me already knowing it was a boy from the beginning and i didn’t realize u never announced it😂 i just knew wow 🥹😍🩵,” wrote one fan.
