David Beckham is one of the most prolific midfielders in soccer history. The Englishman could bend a soccer ball in any way he liked. A dead-ball specialist, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid legend is what every midfielder aspires to be. Beckham had even the best goalkeepers sweating when he stood over the ball to take a free-kick. Looking devilishly handsome for a 47-year-old, David often had people wondering about him even being human.

But, in what can only be termed a shock to his fans, David recently revealed his health- a sickness that has plagued him for years.

David Beckham suffers from a common sickness

The world often wonders about the technical abilities David Beckham possessed. His vision and long-ball passing were unmatched during his time as an active professional. People would argue over him being one of a kind and no one being even close to where he was.

Well, a recent revelation about his health may have brought him closer to a normal human being. Beckham is renowned for his fitness regimes and has rarely been ill over the years. But, the icon has revealed he has hay fever.

Beckham took to Instagram to share a photo of his dogs and make a startling revelation. He wrote, “Hay fever kicked in today. My eyes are watering.” David has over 74 million followers on his Instagram, and all of them were equally shocked to find out about the sickness. No one knew of his condition.

Hay fever is a common sickness, scientifically known as allergic rhinitis. It arises as the body overreacts to allergens and causes inflammation in the nose. A specific type of acupuncture, known as marmapuncture, is beneficial for fever. It uses fewer needles as compared to normal acupuncture.

Athletes with some unfortunate allergies

Beckham’s allergy is not one that caused him extreme inconvenience as a soccer player. But some other athletes had allergies that hindered their career of choice.

Cyclist David Millar suffered from an allergy to the sun! He would slather himself with sunblock so much that he would resemble Casper. Olympic champion swimmer Ian Thorpe had an allergy to Chlorine, while Jade Johnson pursued being a long jumper despite being allergic to sand. American Football player Kermit Tyler had the weirdest allergy of them all, an allergy to strenuous workouts. Tyler was 19 when his career got over.
