The Olympic superhero on a football field is exactly the kind of entertainment every sports fan awaits for. Perhaps there are a million reasons why fans eagerly anticipate the most popular celebrity football match of the year. However, the most prominent reason amongst all of them is the Olympic champion, Usain Bolt, being featured in the game.

The World XI captain, Usain Bolt, led his team to victory in 2021, and this year, he’ll be leading the defending champions once again. Along with the seasoned players, the 11th Soccer Aid match will feature some new celebrity faces as well. The match is scheduled for Sunday, June 12th at the London Stadium, Stratford.
Usain Bolt is ready, are you?
After a decade, the Olympic champion Usain Bolt will return to the London Stadium, only this time, instead of running for gold, he’ll be looking to score maximum goals for his team. The track and field legend has shared a message on his Twitter handle announcing that he is ready for the upcoming game.

In the video, he said, “Listen up London. Bolt is back. England have won five matches, the soccer aid World XI have won five matches. Which means this year is more important than ever.”
The last ten games have leveled the number of wins for each side and this edition will decide who’ll be leading the proceedings from here on. Can Usain Bolt lead his World XI to a back-to-back victory against team England?
Team lineup for the Soccer Aid 2022
Amongst a few familiar faces will be some newcomers in the 11th Soccer Aid game. For team England, the singer-songwriter Liam Payne will make his debut as the captain. With him on the field will be the former England international players, Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, and Fara Williams. While the other newcomers in the team will include actors Lucien Laviscount and Joe Cole, musician Tom Grennan, social media creator Chunkz, and comedian Alex Brooker.

As for World XI, Line of Duty’s Martin Compston, comedian Mo Gilligan, former football stars Patrice Evra, Robbie Keane, and songwriter Chelcee Grimes will help captain Bolt to defend the Soccer Aid trophy.
