The 2022 Beijing Winter Games marked the closing of one of the greatest careers in men’s snowboarding. The great Shaun White entertained the Olympic audience for the last time as he called it quits. Mentored by the legend Tony Hawk himself, White soon climbed the ladder to greatness as he won three Olympic gold medals in the halfpipe event. The American has 23 Games medals. When dividing them up, 15 of these medals are gold, and 13 of those gold medals came from snowboarding. The other two, on the other hand, came from skateboarding.

Shaun is also an accomplished guitar player. He once made his desires known about playing the guitar professionally.

Shaun White expressed an interesting desire

Boasting an impressive resume is one thing. But, to gloat about one as versatile as Shaun White is a whole other thing. He’s a surfboarder, an actor, a champion skateboarder, and a legendary snowboarder. To add to the list, White is also impressive with the guitar.

During an interview, White expressed his wish to play for the legendary rock band Led Zeppelin. The interviewer asked Shaun, “If I said you could be a guitar player in any band right now, what band?” To which Shaun said, “Can I say? Led Zeppelin? They kind of came back for a second there.”

The interviewer followed with a question asking Shaun if he thought he could handle their songs. White said, “I can play most of them.” We think it’s about time someone called Jimmy Page and Robert Plant to let them know of a potential new member for their band. Given how good he is at everything he’s done so far, Jimmy may even let him be the front runner for once.

In the same interview, Shaun expressed his admiration for the White Stripes. “The White Stripes are probably one of my favorite bands. I was in New York, and I was lucky enough to meet Jack White. Meeting actors and TV personalities is one thing, but I just feel like meeting musicians is the coolest.”

White formed his own band

Shaun’s love for the guitar was not just about expressing himself. He once formed an actual band with some of his longtime buddies in 2013.

The band was called ‘Bad Things’ and performed mostly in the synth-pop genre. In the same year as it was formed, the band signed to Warner Bros Records and released an album the following year. But in 2013, a series of cancellations led to Shaun and Co. taking the stage at Lollapalooza. The band hasn’t officially disbanded, but they haven’t officially performed or recorded any new songs in years.
