Shaun White unveiled his Olympic training routine in an exclusive look, showcasing the rigorous workouts and diet that have helped him succeed on the slopes.

Shaun bid farewell to competitive sports in 2022, and since then, he has not allowed one moment to go to waste. The legendary snowboarder has been traveling with his girlfriend, Nina Dobrev, and venturing into new hobbies and adventures. Recently, he shared his workout routine to benefit all other snowboarders getting ready for the Summer Games in 2024.

Shaun White started snowboarding at the age of six. The boy wonder won his first tournament the following year. By the time White turned fourteen years old, he had already started his

professional snowboarding career. During this long and illustrious career, the legendary athlete won three Olympic gold medals in the half-pipe snowboarding events. He has an abundance of knowledge and experience, which he is ready to pass on to the next generation of athletes. 

In an exclusive interview with Men’s Health magazine, Shaun White discussed the challenges he faced and the sacrifices he made to reach the pinnacle of his sport. The interview has been uploaded to YouTube on the official Men’s Health channel with the caption, “Snowboarding Legend Shaun White Shows Off His Gym & Fridge”. At the start of the interview, White revealed that fresh fruits and berries are part of his daily diet. White and Dobrev prefer vegan options over traditional dairy products and stay away from gluten. Next, he showed the workouts that keep him healthy during his travels. He started with a back exercise with a foam roller and then moved on to do his legs. He revealed that his fitness regime kept changing according to the requirement of the sport. But White insisted that mental preparation is more important than being physically fit.

Shaun White prioritizes mental fortitude

During the interview, White said, “You need the mental aspect just as much you need the strength”. He later corrected himself, saying mental fortitude plays a more vital role in the routine than physical fitness. He emphasized the importance of taking rests between training to recover and rejuvenate, both mentally and physically. White would go to the nearby lake or stream for a plunge.

He also revealed his workout to train his core strength, where White would sit on his legs and turn sideways with full force. Interestingly, during the exhibition, his bones popped, and he called it one of the perks of retirement. Shaun White explained that these training routines helped him execute the fabled Double McTwist. He believes that the future of snowboarding will continue to push the boundaries of what is possible, with athletes constantly striving to innovate and create new tricks. White is excited to see how the sport evolves and hopes to inspire the next generation of snowboarders to push their limits and chase their dreams.
