The Winter X Games 2025 are live, and skiing and snowboarding fans are eager to watch their favorite stars in action from January 23 to 25. Although Chloe Kim, the first woman to land the 1260 in halfpipe history, won’t take the stage until January 24, the 24-year-old is already at the venue. Kim uploaded a picture of the SuperPipe she’ll be speeding down tomorrow on Instagram.
The two-time Olympic gold medalist captured the brightly illuminated course in her Instagram story and paired it with Rihanna’s Breakin’ Dishes. The 2022 Olympic gold medalist also got in a few practice runs on the course, as the following story she shared was by photographer Jess Spencer, who captured the champion ripping up the course. So now the question is, when and how can you watch Kim defend her crown at X Games?

The Team USA snowboarding star has joined the likes of Hirano Ayumu, Eileen Gu, and others at Buttermilk Mountain, Aspen, for this year’s X Games. While many athletes will compete in multiple events, Kim will stick to her specialty, the Women’s Snowboard SuperPipe. The good news for fans wanting to catch the snowboarding icon in action is that they can watch the event for free.
If that wasn’t exciting enough, fans can catch the live action from Aspen at no cost worldwide. Those hoping to catch the live broadcast on TV can tune in to ABC or ESPN. Meanwhile, fans looking for streaming options are spoiled for choice. The Winter X Games is streaming the entire event live on Fubo, Roku Channel, and X Games YouTube. Naturally, you must be wondering when Chloe Kim will compete.
Kim will shred down the SuperPipe on Saturday, January 25. The stream begins at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time and will run till 1 a.m. It’ll be a busy day with Men’s Slopestyle, and three other women’s events besides the Women’s SuperPipe. The defending women’s champion will look to build on the momentum she earned at Laax 2025.
The Olympian is looking to ride the momentum after a historic win
Chloe Kim started the 2024/25 FIS Snowboard World Cup season on a winning note at Laax 2025 in Switzerland. After coming up short on home ice at the U.S. Grand Prix’s halfpipe in December 2024, Kim was looking to return to her winning ways ahead of the Winter X Games. However, Kim didn’t just win in Switzerland but made history along the way.

As the youngest female snowboarder to win Olympic gold at 17, Kim is no stranger to making history. However, this time she shared that historic feat with fellow American snowboarder Maddie Mastro. Kim and Mastro became the first women to land a double cork 1080 in a competition. The two-time Olympic gold medalist’s record-setting feat was enough to earn her gold.
“I really wanted to show you guys my cab double, and I’m so happy I was able to put it down… It’s rewarding to just ride for fun,” Chloe Kim said after her triumphant attempt. Setting a new record just ahead of the Winter X Games is sure to boost the defending champion’s confidence. However, fans will have to wait a little longer to find out if she succeeds in defending the SuperPipe crown.
