Being in snowboarding for a long time, Shaun White is retiring from the sport after two decades of success. Despite, the qualification process not being as straightforward for him, White aims to qualify for his last ever Winter Olympics in a bid to win his fourth gold medal. Thus, he looks determined to take over the qualification process to qualify for his final Olympic Games. However, with retirement approaching soon, he looks excited about the future.

The snowboarder talked about looking forward to retirement plans while being excited about new challenges in life.
Shaun White looking forward to retirement
Before he looked to qualify for the Winter Olympics, White is ready to look ahead into the future. A career with glory and achievements obviously takes a toll on physical and mental health. For almost two decades, he entertained audiences with his extraordinary performances. However, he is now looking forward to a new chapter in his life after the Winter Olympics. An excited White leaves behind medals, championships, records, and a whole lot more in his illustrious career.
“I’m kind of excited about it, honestly. I guess for as long as I can remember, I’ve been doing what I am doing, and it’s amazing. It’s wonderful. But obviously, there is so much more to life than just sports. And yeah, I’m excited to see everything there is to offer,” said White.

Although he plans to retire after the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, his qualification to the Games is not done yet. He looks to compete in his final Olympic Games, looking to win his fifth Olympic medal. Can he qualify for the tournament and have a fairytale ending to his career?

A legacy to remember
Out of all the four Olympic appearances, he won three gold medals apart from the 2014 Winter Olympics. Thus, the Beijing Olympics is important for him to end his career on a high. Being 35 years old, White talked about retiring soon and ending his career on a high.
“This is, I think, my last run. It’s hard to talk about because my whole life I’ve kind of been looked at as somewhat superhuman because I do these things [in the halfpipe]. … I’ve prided myself on being that individual, and, man, realizing and admitting to myself and everyone else, I’m human, it’s taken a toll,” said White.

The golden career of White is coming to an end. Leaving an everlasting legacy of thrills and spills, White leaves with his head held high. Winning another Olympic medal would be on his wish list. Thus, White would hope to win, yet again.
