Snowboarder Shaun White declared retirement after performing in Beijing Winter Olympics. The three-time gold medalist disclosed his plans for retirement during a press conference between the games. Similarly, NFL player Tom Brady announced his retirement after 22 seasons. Brady’s retirement caught the attention of the snowboarder, and later, he took a dig at him.

After both legendary superstars of their respective sports got retired, people started comparing their plans after retirement. One thing Shaun mentioned after retiring was going straight to watch Super Bowl Live. Earlier, the snowboarder brought this topic to the light and mentioned the age gap they both have.

Shaun White said this on Tom Brady’s retirement

If an individual talks about their retirement plan, they generally think of doing some adventure, resting on the beach, and having a long break that they deserve after ultimate hard work. Yet, the three-time gold medalist had some poles-apart-plans for his retirement.

The 35-year-old snowboarder has retirement plans that differ a lot from the 45-year-old NFL player Brady. During a podcast with Armchair Expert, he remarked on Brady’s retirement plan with the host Dax Shepard. Shaun said, “I always wanted to do, and finally lined up, perfect timing with my retirement, so I have that going in. and the other factors you can’t really, I mean you can play like Tom Brady like what he do he go to a local shop and pick up game at YMCA, you know at least I can go snowboarding and have a great time.”

According to Shaun, he wants to endure the luxury of retirement with his long-term girlfriend, Nina Dobrev. He does not want to bid adieu to his sport. He has traveled to places like New York, Greece, Dubai, Maldives, and France post-retirement.

The legacy of the flying tomato

The snowboarding legend may have aged, but he still owns the energy of a 19-year-old. He was only 19 when he first participated in Winter Olympics. When he first started, famous skateboarder Tony Hawk trained him at the age of 9. He left his golden marks in the 2000 and 2006 winter Olympics and participated in the X games.

He has a foundation for children and helps Tony Hawk’s foundation. White also launched his own video game titled ‘Shaun White Snowboarding.’ In 2008, it became the 20th best-selling video game in the USA. Shaun seems gleeful while enjoying his precious retirement time with Dobrev.
