Shaun White gave 20 years of his life to snowboarding. Perhaps this is the reason why he was in tears during his last run at the Beijing Winter Olympics. But so were the fans who were there to cheer him. The three-time Olympic gold medalist has indeed given enough memories to the world to be cherished for a lifetime.
How did his father help Shaun White in becoming an athlete?
Shaun White’s father, Roger White, named him after a renowned surfer. He said, “Shaun was supposed to be a surfer. I wanted to be a surfer, and my dad was never behind me. I was hoping to get Shaun into surfing. I put him on a boogie board when he was really young, about 4 years old.” However, as per a report, the snowboarding legend found his calling as a 4-year-old when his dad began his snowboarding lessons.
