Shaun has to travel a lot globally as a professional in two sports. But unfortunately, his young age got him in big trouble.

Shaun White and his fraud attempt

In one podcast, Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Shaun was invited to discuss his problems. He talked to the Armchair Expert about how he handled the expectations of others to win constantly. How he transferred his skateboarding expertise to snowboarding, and what motivates him to be the greatest in his field.

There Shaun opened up about an incident that happened when he was young. When White was 11 years old, he got kicked out of the plane. As per White, “I got kicked off from flight once, I was fraudulently flying with my dad’s name. And I was 11 years old.”

Shaun said, “I got booted out from the flight to Switzerland. After that, I needed help, needed a lift.” It was not intentional because White had to travel for his competitions at a young age.

Also, in the podcast, Shaun and Dax discussed how snowboarding requires a creative element that is not present in other sports. Shaun describes how, at an early age, he bought his family a new home, how he incorporated high fashion into his snowboarding attire, and what Shaun is doing now that he has retired from competitive snowboarding.

Shaun White’s bad experience with flights

When Shaun was 16-year-old, he was sporting a scruffy teenager look. He was a United Airlines Red Carpet Club premier executive member in 2003.

As per Vault, the club is only open to the wealthiest corporate executives, diplomats, and celebrities who fly more than 100,000 miles a year on the Airline. But as Shaun reached the VIP lounge and requested a glass of milk, the staff rejected his request.

The VIP staff told him to leave the lounge, but he told them he was also a member. Shaun blames the Airline for thinking of him as a kid and giving his place to a guy in the suit. The staff was not accepting that he was a member of the VIP club and blamed him, as they believed he was using his dad’s card.

Well, Shaun certainly has had his fair share of experiences while flying.
