“C’mon I Was at the Olympics… I Cut My Hair”: Snowboarding Legend Shaun White Was Once Denied Meeting With Girlfriend Nina Dobrev. Here’s Why?

Shaun White is a three-time Olympic snowboarding gold medalist. He retired from the sport after finishing fourth in the 2022 Winter Olympics. Even after retiring, Shaun makes it to the headlines very frequently. He has been dating actress Nina Dobrev for about three years now.

They were first linked together in March 2020 by the fans after they sparked dating rumors. However, there was no confirmation from either Shaun or Nina. The Vampire Diaries star made their relationship Instagram official in May 2020. Fans love their sizzling chemistry whenever they are spotted together. Notably, both of them are adventure lovers and seek adventure very often.

Shaun White recalls a tough moment

Shaun White and Nina Dobrev maintain very busy schedules. The Olympic star is building his brand ‘White Space’ after retirement, whereas Nina has her acting as well as production commitments to take care of. Despite the busy schedule, the couple manages to spend some quality time together. There was this incident once when Shaun wanted to visit Nina while she was shooting for a film in Canada. The snowboarding legend was denied the meeting owing to border restrictions.

“That was probably one of the toughest things because I couldn’t get into Canada. I tried,” he said, laughing. “I was turned around. I was like, ‘C’mon I was at the Olympics here. Do you remember? I cut my hair’.” He said, recalling how it was a very challenging moment for both of them.

Shaun revealed how their next meeting would be during the holiday season. “Anything that happens in between then, I’ll jet over and see her,” he said. The couple does not leave any stone unturned when it comes to their relationship. 

Nina’s influence on Shaun

Nina supported Shaun during his last Olympic Performance. Shaun shared a heartwarming picture of them on Instagram and thanked her for keeping a smile on his face. Speaking about the influence that Nina has on his life he said,” What an influence on my life. She holds me to this same high standard which is so wonderful to have in a partner.”

Nina even organized a retirement party for Shaun right after the Olympics. The party was meant to celebrate the 20 years that he had given to the sport.

Nina and Shaun are both seekers of adventure. They often spend their vacations doing adventure sports. Shaun has been teaching Nina snowboarding.  The couple recently went to the Maldives together and even updated their fans with pictures of their recent trip on their Instagram accounts, doing some water sports.
