With excitement levels rising, the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics is only weeks away now. Teams and participants are all set to show off their talents and bring glory to their countries. With an array of talent on display, it is hard to choose the favorites for this year’s competitions. Notably, Team USA is sending a strong contingent of 223 athletes as they look to lead the medals tally in those games. However, the star of the show, Shaun White, who will be making his fifth appearance next month, won’t be the only one scripting history.

Apart from White, there are three other athletes who will appear for the fifth time at the Winter Olympics. Those athletes are Lindsey Jacobellis, Katie Uhlaender, and John Shuster.

Three athletes appearing for the fifth time

From those heading to Beijing, Lindsey Jacobellis is a snowboarder. While White won the gold medal at the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics, Jacobellis won the silver medal for the Women’s snowboard cross competition. In addition, she is a six-time World Champion while being a ten-time snowboard cross champion at the X Games. Now, she is 35 and hopes to win her first gold medal.

The other athlete who is making her fifth appearance is Katie Uhlaender. The 37-year-old woman skeleton racer is one of the best in business. Although she has not won an Olympic gold medal yet, she won six medals at the World Championships, and is favored for a podium finish in Beijing next month.

Finally, there is John Shuster. He is probably one of the most decorated Olympians in the US. His influence on curling led America to a gold medal at the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics. Furthermore, he won the bronze medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics and is a nine-time World Curling Champion. Then there is, of course, the incredible Shaun White.
