As for White, winning gold at the fourth Olympic Games would be an incredible feat and a perfect way to say goodbye. Despite the presence of top-class athletes, he is not bowing down without a fight.

Shaun White has an incredible mentality

Winning three Olympic gold medals, White established himself as one of the greats of the game. Now, being confident and able to get back to his best during the final run of the qualifying event for the Olympics is what he is all about. He continues to defy the odds and perform at the highest level. However, this year’s Olympics will see him come face to face with world-class athletes like Ayumu Hirano and Scott James. Regardless, he is ready to go all-in!

“I’m not, like, going to just hand it over. I’m not going to walk away. I’m going to give it everything I have at this Olympics. It’s my title to defend. But knowing what was lying on the other side of this Olympics kind of gave me a second wind. And we’re like: ‘Okay, well, if this is the choice and this is the decision, I can let this crumble me and I’ll crawl away and give up or like, ‘Hey, this is your last go: Let’s be safe; let’s do this thing; but let’s push it to the point of breaking,'” said White.
