Shaun White, the legendary snowboarder, may have retired on paper, but he found a way to keep his journey alive. The 3-time Olympic gold medalist had earned a multitude of accolades in his entire snowboarding career. However, though he is now retired from his beloved arena, White continues to frame accolades on his wall of fame, all while making his fandom part of his journey. Owing to that, the 10 ESPY Awards winner had recently explored an unusual but wholesome avenue.
Working days and nights, brainstorming and put words to action, the Olympian emerged victorious. With his new book ‘Shaun White: Airborne’ launch, the snowboarder pulled off the curtains from his journey. Earlier this year, Shaun’s docuseries glued netizens to the TV screens. Now, since he had a penchant for action-sports photographs, he included those alongside the family albums in the book.
The closest comrade of Shaun White pens a heartfelt encomium

Photograher Adam Moran took to his Instagram handle to express his regard for Shaun’s career and the snowboarder as a person. Travelling with him for over 3 years while also documenting his daily life, Adam had one of the greatest experiences.
Celebrating his new book launch, he said, “It’s been a long time coming, but Shaun White’s book, Airborne, is finally out. So many talented photographers in this book that documented his career, and I feel fortunate to have contributed a lot of shots in there. For those that don’t know, I traveled with Shaun for over 3 years, shooting almost all his on snow stuff at the time.”
Since Shaun’s book had several shots from his career, Adam picked some of his clicks to make a photo series. Besides just snowboarding, Adam had captured him in his most candid moments. Be it eating, lying down with a guitar, packing for a trip, showing off his moves in the drawing room, the Olympian did it all. However, Shaun posing bare bodied for the camera asserts the close entity-photographer bond between the two.

Lastly, Adam showed his heartfelt gratitude to Shaun by saying, “Shaun’s career was insane and will never be repeated. So many wild times, thanks for having me along for part of that ride, Shaun.” However, this is not the first time that the pro snowboarder has documented his life.
White’s docuseries caught the world amazed

For a legendary figure like the 37-year-old, retiring at just 35 left him sad. Taking inspiration from bodybuilding demigod Arnold Schwarzenegger, While stated in an interview with the Guardian, “Retirement is a pretty ugly word.” He further added, “This next chapter just feels like something new. It’s on to the next. I recently watched the Arnold Schwarzenegger documentary [Arnold], and he was like, ‘I reached the top, and now I’m bored.”

Innterestingly, Shaun White: The Last Run, a three-part series illustrated the athlete’s rise from a young boy with passionate eyes—likely fueled by a heart defect—to a global athletic icon. Additionally, he praised the film-makers, saying, “I met them and they were great people. I was thinking, ‘I can hang with them.”

Besides snowboarding, one of his latest ventures included surfing as well. The world witnessed the prowess of the true legend, whose skills are not limited to just one sport.
