Some directly associate with the organizations running these drives, while others help raise awareness of these crucial issues through various platforms. Recently, Shaun White and Nina Dobrev joined such a cause to benefit the planet.

The A-list couple has been traversing the world since White retired from professional snowboarding. And now, the couple has joined another pair to make the world a better place for a threatened species.

Shaun White and Nina Dobrev join conservationists to raise awareness

White and Dobrev teamed up with another couple and prominent conservationists, Ocean Ramsey and Juan Oliphant, to raise awareness of sharks. The pair posted on their Instagram handles to share the experience with their fans and followers.

People have many misconceptions regarding sharks. And as such, many species are facing threats of extinction in recent times. Numerous conservationists, including Ramsey and Oliphant, are doing a commendable job of raising awareness and executing conservation efforts for the species.

Now, the five-time Olympian and the actress have joined in the efforts. It is to make the planet a haven for these misunderstood yet beautiful species. White shared the post on his social media account just ahead of Shark Awareness Week.

White’s post read, “Thank you @oceanramsey & @juansharks for the amazing encounter. I never would’ve imagined jumping in the water with Tiger sharks…But my girlfriend got in first so I was forced to man up and get in too.”

To shed light on the nature of the species and its threatened status, he added, “I’m so glad I did. this experience completely shattered the preconceived notion about sharks being vicious killers. They were so calm and peaceful. I was so sad to learn that sharks are being hunted for sport. They need to be protected, not killed.”

White uploaded a carousel post containing multiple pictures and videos of the occasion. Moreover, it has garnered almost 28k likes within 12 hours. Dobrev followed soon with her post to share her experience.

In the posts, the couple swam alongside tiger sharks. A 14-foot tiger shark named Roxy was present among them. The shark is quite popular on social media and is a celebrity in its own right. Since White and Nina went diving with Oliphant and Ramsey, the couple is likely spending some time in Hawaii.
