The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics is going to be a gala event. Shaun White, Chloe Kim, and Mikaela Shiffrin are some of the top athletes competing at the competition for team USA. On the other hand, a retired star is making her come back to the grandest stage, yet again. Not as a competitor, but as a commentator for the Winter Olympics, Lindsey Vonn is returning to the Winter Games.

After she retired in 2019, she has been living her life peacefully and enjoying her retirement. Now, she steps into a new role to provide her in-depth knowledge of her beloved sport.
Lindsey Vonn set to become a commentator
Undoubtedly, Lindsey is a legend of the sport and has won several accolades during her career. Winning the gold medal at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics is a feather on her cap. Likewise, the downhill competitions are pretty much straightforward with her amongst the ranks.
Notably, her World Cup race victories of 82 make her sit comfortably on top of the all-time leader list. Thus, she joins the NBC Olympics team as a prime correspondent for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

Her in-depth analysis and punditry would provide comprehensive coverage of the games. A person who is as experienced as she is would boost the tv ratings while helping people receive massive inputs.
Certainly, it looks to be a brilliant move for the team to include Vonn at the helm. With Shiffrin looking to win her third Olympic gold medal, it would be great to see the two talents having a conversation during the games.

Notably, this is the second time NBC has brought in a legend to analyze the competitions. During the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, legendary swimmer Michael Phelps joined the team as a commentator.
After he commentated on different competitions at the US trials, he traveled to Japan to showcase his talents as a commentator. Hence, his analysis was eye-opening for most athletes, as it could give both the audience and fellow commentators an improvised knowledge of the sport.

Thus, this particular move by NBC is heartwarming. A legend in all sense, Vonn is set to travel to China, as she looks to dissect her favorite sport for the audience. A significant role for the former Olympic gold medalist.
