It doesn’t matter what you wish for, because once you get it, you want something else. However, it’s not a bad thing, it’s simply the way of life. Mikaela Shiffrin has been someone who works tirelessly towards her goals. Apart from the Beijing Olympics, her performance has always been quite impressive. However, since her father’s demise, the last couple of years have been very challenging for the skier. Though she is a fighter, and even though the times were tough, she kept on going like a true champion.
What could be the next goal for Mikaela Shiffrin?
With her fourth overall world cup victory, Mikaela has finally joined the league of legends with former American skier Lindsey Vonn. Though there is something else that she can’t overlook. The 27-year-old skier currently has 74 world cup wins and has every chance to overtake the legend Lindsey Vonn’s 82 world cup victories. If she looks further ahead, Sweden’s Ingemar Stenmark’s 86 world cup wins is also not that far.
However, Mikaela said, “That record is not going to be the thing that defines my success in my career. It’s already been successful—but I’m still here and still doing it. As I keep skiing in the next season or so I’m almost on a journey to find out what the goal needs to be and what my career is going to look like moving forward.”
