Only a great athlete like Lindsey Vonn can know what it takes to reach that point. Obviously, the struggle and obstacles are something inevitable, but how you course through them determines the altitude of your success. To make it more elaborate, the skiing legend has shared each escapade of her journey in her recently released book ‘Rise-My story.’

Lindsey Vonn has stardom beyond the world of skiing. She is an inspiration for millions of people. Furthermore, through her foundation, the Olympic champion is doing commendable philanthropic work to uplift underprivileged people. However, life has always not been so simple for Lindsey. Like everyone else, she had a bit of dark days too. Though she has traveled through every single one of them like a true champion.

What fueled Lindsey Vonn in her incredible journey?

Everyone has their own sense of motivation that drives them through their life choices. For Lindsey it was her haters. Sharing her struggles and how she made them her strength, she said, “Every time someone wrote something bad about me or said something bad about me I remembered it. Several incidents in particular which I wrote about in my book. But it fueled me. I like proving people wrong.”

 

Talking about the lessons that her book propagates, Lindsey further added, “No matter how successful I became, people always wanted to tear me down. They want to see you fail. So it’s our job to be able to overcome that pressure and the negative talk and be able to rise above all that.”

Wearing makeup was a great challenge

Apart from other obstacles Lindsey faced during her career, wearing makeup also brought her some negative comments. Today she is the glamorous skier who is amongst the top favorite sports celebrities in the world.

However, recalling her early days in the skiing, she said“So many people would comment and make fun of me and I am like you can do that all day long.”
