On June 6th, Mark Zuckerberg launched Threads by Meta. The new social media app took the internet by storm as people started to compare it to Twitter. While everyone was debating which was superior, Alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin topped the Threads account list.

The alpine skier, who currently has 36k followers on Threads, loves to share daily glimpses of her life with fans on the app. Recently, the athlete was also named one of the top six accounts on Twitter. The world championship winner, who couldn’t believe the news, shared a witty post on her Instagram story.

On July 14, Mikaela Shiffrin reposted an Instagram story showcasing the top 6 thread accounts on the app right now, with the alpine skier holding the fourth position on the list. The athlete, being modest, wittily captioned the story, “Hmmm. I think you guys made a typo on this with no. 4.” Further, to show her gratitude, the athlete added, “But thank you, I really appreciate it.” 

Shiffrin also reposted one more story in which the skier’s recent thread post was linked. On the newly launched app, the athlete added a photo of herself during the ESPY award while expressing her feelings through a long note for winning at the event. Shiffrin conveyed her gratitude towards her supportive team while revealing that she almost blacked out while receiving the award. Further extending her note in the comments section, the athlete said that over the past years, she has learned that greatness cannot exist without struggle and failure. And a person will fail, as it is unavoidable, but the pain makes a person work hard. After an outstanding season, Shiffrin won the award for the best athlete in women’s sport at the ESPYS 2023.

Shiffrin won big at the ESPY 2023

Mikaela Shiffrin was the star of the show at ESPY 2023. The skier was honored as the Best Athlete in women’s sports. After the athlete set the best-ever record on her 87th World Cup win, she is also the only skier to win Best Athlete after Olympic medalist Lindsey Vonn.
