Reed Hastings’ affinity towards the sport encouraged him to gift the athletes an “ultimate skier experience” this winter. According to a press release reported by Standard-Examiner, Hastings revealed, “My wife Patty and I love this place… We’re looking to accentuate what has always made it special”. Therefore, Hastings shall preserve the raw essence of the region and add more modern amenities and infrastructure to enhance the skiing experience.

The 62-year-old billionaire meant to make it more accessible without destroying the serenity of Powder Mountain. Kevin Mitchell, the resort’s general manager, intended to use the investment to procure the necessary equipment and other facilities to help new skiers. It is his noble mission to bring more people to the sport and help beginners progress in their skiing abilities.

With this thought in mind, Mitchell wanted to add more access points using which novice skiers may explore more of the beautiful terrain. He added, “Young skiers will have access to a new magic carpet, an upgraded ski school facility, and Sundown will become the first area of the mountain with snowmaking infrastructure to create the best conditions for new riders”. However, the improvements do not end there.
