Ace alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin and her boyfriend Aleksander Aamodt Kilde are having a whale of a time on their vacation! Braving through terrifying injuries and recovery phases, the two were in for a rough ride in their recent skiing seasons. However, from Mexico to Italy, their holiday destinations seem perfect for a full-fledged recharge before they commence their 2024-25 spells. And apparently, another one of their latest pit stops has been in Monaco.

As seen in the 2x Olympic gold medalist’s social media stories, she and Aleksander attended day 1 of the Monaco Grand Pix- F1 race. Beyond documenting the hustle-bustle of the event, she even uploaded a particularly amusing snippet that showed the couple putting out all stops to cater to a fan request.

Probably ticking off a first, one of Mikaela’s Instagram stories shows her and Aleksander giving autographs to their fans by standing close to two giant trash cans. Approached by a female fan duo from exactly behind the stand fence, the Norwegian skier extends his hand to clutch a diary from over the partition, signs it himself, and turns to pass it over to his partner.

‘Me too?’ Mikaela laughingly questions, to which the fan girl gives an assertive yes and so does Kilde, who replies, ‘More so than me!’ with a chuckle. Just seconds later the fan adds, ‘You are my queen!‘ to which Kilde further replies, ‘Mine too!’  While this candid fan interaction is the most adorable thing ever, Mikaela finds it amusing that it transpired nearly inches from the bins. ‘Nothing like an autography by the trashcans,’ remarks Shiffrin, who has diligently documented the whole occurrence and uploaded it on her story with two laughing emojis.

Overall, Mikaela’s stories attest that she had a blast at the Monaco GP. Right from dressing up for the event in a lavender pantsuit and a Barilla cap, to recording the practice laps from the front row, the seven-time World Champion has captured it all. She even showed glimpses of her casually striding down the Paddock with Kilde, and re-uniting with fellow alpine ski racer Lucas Pinheiro Braathen.

However, the fun didn’t stop there. Mikaela also took a track tour alongside the other tourists. Moreover, seizing the essence of the event venue, she even videographed a passing-by shot, exhibiting the splendid lineup of superyachts parked at the Port Hercule, circling the racetrack. And while she gave away all these details, fans remained clueless about the team she supported until she revealed it in an X post.

Is Shiffrin an Aston Martin fan?

Finally breaking her silence, Mikaela Shiffrin let out who she was supporting at the F1 venue. Taking to her X account this time, she uploaded a picture of her and Aleksander with the Spanish racer Fernando Alonso. Competing for Aston Martin at the race, Alonso stands 16th on the grid currently. However, the 28th Formula 1 World Drivers’ Champion is a true racing veteran, who is donning his shades just like the skiing couple in the stunning shot.

Each of these peeks into Mikaela’s vacation suggests that she is indeed unwinding before she shifts the gear back to sports mode. Besides, her gesture for her fans was truly touching. Therefore, whilst the ultimate showdown of the Monaco GP is scheduled for the 26th of May, Mikaela and Aleksander’s presence will surely be awaited by many of their supporters. They shall be waiting to see if Shiffrin cheers for Aston Martin in the race too.
