Lindsey Vonn is an American Alpine skier who won four women’s World Cup titles between 2010 and 2012. She has been skiing since she was 14 years old. She has won many medals, whether it was the Trofeo Topolino competition in Italy or the Winter Olympics in Utah. But Lindsey thinks having so many achievements is not enough to make her the greatest of all time.

Recently, in the show ‘Profile By BuzzFeed News’, Lindsey Vonn was questioned by the host. She was asked what greatness means to her. Then Lindsey replied, “I think the greatest is all-encompassing. I think you can’t just be one thing; you have to be more than an athlete. So I look up to people like Michael Jordan, Roger Federer, and Serena Williams and what they can do in their given careers. Also, they’ve been able to inspire, and that has inspired me over the course of my career.”

Lindsey spoke about her inspiration by naming Michael Jordan, Roger Federer, and Serena Williams as the greatest of all time. Vonn said that these people had done so much for sports and that their greatness goes beyond sports.

According to Lindsey, greatness is about it’s how you affect others and how you inspire. After this, Vonn was asked if she could title herself GOAT. Then she said she won’t think about herself and could call herself. Vonn stated that she has always tried to do her best, from inspiring girls to having her foundation.

 

At the time of her retirement in 2019, she held the record for the most victories in women’s World Cup races with 82. Lindsey has suffered from so many injuries in her career. Vonn won a gold medal in the downhill at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and a bronze in the super-G.

In March 2010, she won the overall World Cup championship for the third time. She also won the downhill, super-G, and combined World Cup titles during the 2009–10 season, bringing her career total to 33 victories and shattering Bode Miller’s U.S. record.

With her potential and respect for other athletes, she is the GOAT of skiing.

Lindseys’ Comeback after 2017

After making a comeback in January 2017, Vonn earned a downhill bronze medal at the world championships, making history the oldest woman ever to win a medal in that competition. In the downhill competition at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, Vonn took home the bronze medal.

At the 2019 World Championships, she earned another bronze medal downhill and then announced her retirement from competitive skiing. The television documentary Lindsey Vonn: The Final Season was published that year.

Lindsey Vonn’s personal life

Lindsey got married on 29 September 2007. She married her fellow Thomas Vonn, who was on U.S Ski Team as well. The venue Silver Lake Lodge in Utah was so beautiful. But their marriage did not work out. Just after four years of their marriage, Lindsey and Thomas decided and announced their divorce.

The divorce got final on January 9, 2013, but after her divorce. Lindsey met Tiger Woods, who was a golfer. But they also ended up splitting. After this, in 2018, she started dating P. K. Subban, a defenceman in NHL. But Vonn and Subban broke up after the engagement announcement in 2019.
