“Having a Hard Time”- US Legend Lindsey Vonn Opens Up on the Scary Price She’s Paying for Her Skiing Career Years After Retirement

The American skiing legend Lindsey Vonn is one such sports player who has risen beyond the sport they played. Undoubtedly, she is one of the most successful world cup skiers ever, and even after three years of her retirement. However, she is always the center of media attention.

Lindsey Vonn has led an incredible career. She holds the record of winning the world cup in all five disciplines of alpine skiing — downhill, super-G, giant slalom, slalom, and super combined. The skiing legend also has a downhill Olympic gold under her name that she won during the 2010 Winter Olympics. While her career was spectacular, it was often filled with injuries.

 Vonn returns from a knee surgery

Although the skiing champion is now retired, her routine of surgeries is still on. Lindsey posted an Instagram reel today after returning from her knee surgery, showing glimpses of the process. Along with the video, she wrote, “Surgery yesterday went well…. Been having a hard time with the pain in my knee. You may have noticed I haven’t been posting many workout videos lately… that’s why.”

The former world champion further added, “This is my last step before getting a knee replacement… hoping this will hold me over for a year or two until I get the big surgery. Ahhh the price we pay to do what we love. Still worth it though.”

What does Lindsey Vonn do post retirement

Her life post-retirement is equally busy as it was while she was competing professionally. Lindsey is often seen in skiing events as an expert, but the majority of her time goes into being an entrepreneur, sports celebrity, and fashion icon. In fact, she is quite popular on social media. In 2019, HBO released a documentary named ‘Lindsey Vonn: The Final Season,’ while in 2022 she released her book called ‘Rise: My Story.’
