If Tony Hawk would be scared of injuries, he would work in an office, with a computer or a couple of files on his desk. But his love for skateboarding is more than any fear of injury or failure. Hence, he is the greatest skateboarder the world has ever seen.

The ‘Birdman’ is 53-year-old but his love for the sport is still the same as it was during his childhood days. On Monday, a day prior to the trailer release of his documentary “Until The Wheels Fall Off,” Tony suffered a serious femur injury. Unshakeable by the injury, Tony said, “this broken femur recovery will take longer but I’m up for the challenge.”

Despite the setbacks, Tony Hawk is not ready to quit the game

Given his age, anyone at Tony’s place would have thought of departing from the sport. However, Tony Hawk shuts down all the speculations regarding his withdrawal from skateboarding.

He said, “I’ve said many times that I won’t stop skating until I am physically unable. A broken leg – with plenty of hardware – will probably be the biggest test of that creed. I’ll be back… maybe not at full capacity, but I resigned to that notion years ago as I approached mid-life.”

Tony’s injury is quite serious and, as per the Orthopedic surgeon, David Abbasi, besides the injury, he might have fractured his hip as well.

On April 5, the HBO Max is releasing a documentary called Tony Hawk: Until the Wheels Fall Off. It’s about the life of the legend skateboarder Tony Hawk and the trailer of the documentary is out now. The documentary will cover the entire journey of Tony’s skateboarding career, along with his personal life and his philosophy.

After the injury Tony wrote on his twitter handle,Strangely ironic that it happened on the eve of @HBO releasing a trailer for “Until The Wheels Fall Off,” @samjones’ doc.”
