Talking to Hawk in the interview, the 30-year-old athlete admitted that he wouldn’t even sign a contract if the organization restricted him from skating. Such a scenario is pretty common in the wrestling industry, among others, precisely to keep them from injuries. This answer followed when Hawk himself enquired if Allin was barred from skating.
“Tony Khan owns our wrestling company and he also does the Jaguars as well… so it’s kind of crazy how like Tony is more open with the wrestlers to kind of do whatever that you want,” he disclosed. The AEW champ also mentioned how NFL athletes aren’t allowed to practice any other sport as per their official contracts.
Prior to the revelations, Allin shared that it is quite a task to balance his wrestling career alongside skating since it is the one he has been involved with for a longer period. Additionally, he stated his utmost eagerness to get back to skating. “Wanting to skate all the time,” he said. As a matter of fact, guess who inspired him to pursue skating?

As per a 2021 interview with Chris Van Vliet’, the pro wrestler opened up about his childhood skating inspiration, who encouraged him to hit the wheels. “I’m either skateboarding or something active. That was the one thing that Tony Hawk told me. He’s like 54 and killing it on the skateboard scene still,” Allin declared.
Besides, he also mentioned a piece of advice by Hawk that fueled him to never drift away from skating. “Just don’t stop because the moment that you take a break, that’s when everything starts to feel like sh*t,” he said, hinting at his idol’s dogma.
