During the 90s, Hawk excelled remarkably on the ramp, while also starting a company named Birdhouse. This propelled his career to another level. According to Forbes, he was the wealthiest action sports star in the world then.
The famous Tony Hawk video game sold over an estimated 1.4 billion copies worldwide. Earning millions at a very young age, he admitted to spending it on various luxuries. However, he revealed how his dad helped him to channel the money into a better investment.
“My dad was the one who encouraged me to put [my money] away, in terms of investing in a house. [My dad] cosigned a house with me, because I had the money but I wasn’t old enough to actually sign a deed,” said Hawk.
As he was 17 back then, his dad had to sign the contract. This is because the minimum age requirement to sign a contract to own a house was 18.
