Tony Hawk officially retired from skateboarding in 2003. However, the athlete’s passion for skateboarding is still the same as the athlete showcases his moves on social media. Apart from exhibiting such staunch maneuvers, the legend has also started his own podcast, “Hawk vs. Wolf,” with skating legend Jason Ellis. In the podcast, the two skaters after representing the United States in the top-tier skateboarding events, now discuss the influence of the game.
The skaters have also held some exclusive interviews with guests, including Lizzie Armanto and Sean McInerney. Recently, Hawk also invited “Annihilator” hitmaker Lil Wayne to his show. The rapper, who is an avid skater, shared his journey on the podcast. Further, a clip of Wayne discussing a horrible skating accident with his friend has also been uploaded on YouTube.
Lil Wayne recalls a friend’s gruesome skating injury story

On August 8, Hawk vs.Wolf posted a short video of Little Wayne talking about his friend’s skating incident. In the video, the legendary rapper talked about his friend Ty’s gnarly injury on the ramp as he had sent the rapper a video of him falling while vert skating. According to Wayne, his friend was “Fully in the hospital bed with tubes tied.’ The rapper, who first thought it to be his friend messing with him.
But later, Wayne saw the video of him trying to drop in and falling on his back while trying to take a ride on the ramp. Furthermore, while talking about his own vert skating experience, the rapper revealed that he has only tried vert skating “with pads on.” As the skating guy would help him make runs on the ramp.
However, the athlete has not tried to drop in on the ramp, as he stated, “No, that takes time.” Although Little Wayne has yet to dominate large ramps, the rapper who turned into a business mogul has always shown a keen interest in skateboarding. And by the end of the year 2022, Wayne also become a pro skater. The artist received his first professional medical board in December.

Wayne going Pro in skating
After practicing on the board for years, Lil Wayne received a surprise on the holiday weekend. As the rapper’s music videographer, Phil Lopez, and skating legends Torey Pudwill and Yosef Ratleff, Keelan Dadd gifted the rapper his first Pro model board. Lopeez had collaborated with Torey Pudwill, owner of Thank You Skate Co., to make the rapper his own pro-customized board. Wayne who adored this gesture posted a picture with his skating gang on Instagram with the caption “Thank You Gang.”

From being a legend in the hip-hop industry to learning new things daily, Lil Wayne is truly the epitome of growing every day. Further, the rapper who has learned from his friend’s injury also knows how to take the necessary precautions while trying on new skating tricks.
