Hawk opened up during the interview and talked about that trick, which challenged him the most.

“The trick that I never could do that I really wanted to make on a vert ramp at some point was an Ollie 720 which means you come up backwards, spin around twice on a vertical axis without grabbing the board and landing it. I just could never get that last half a turn so that was the trick that had challenged me the most, I stopped trying it ever since, so wah,” said Hawk.

The degree of difficulty to do a 720 Ollie is right up there at the top. Despite those troubles, Hawk landed it nine months ago as being 52 doesn’t slow him down. Nonetheless, he created the X-Games and paved the way for young skateboarders to express their talents. A legend of the sport.

In terms of difficulty, many tricks are hard to land. The “900” landed by Hawk takes years of practice. It requires a vertical ramp or a “big air” ramp to perform. To land the trick, the skateboarder must spin a full two and a half rotations in the air while landing back on the skateboard. Only a few skateboarders landed this trick. Hawk introduced it to the open world.

Another famous skateboarding trick is the Heelflip 720. Hawk dubbed this trick to be completed only with a certain amount of luck. It comprises two full turns, a 720-degree turn, then doing a heelflip. Sounds complicated enough! Other tricks like Gazelle Flip, Hard Flip, and Laser Flip are some of the other incredible tricks that skateboarders take years to perfect.
