During his appearance on the podcast, Lil Wayne, known for his enigmatic persona, peeled back the layers and offered a rare glimpse into his personal life and love for skateboarding. In a recent Instagram video, Wayne mentioned the time when Tyler, The Creator texted him with a picture of himself from a hospital bed with tubes attached to him. He said, “Ty sent me a clip. He was in a hospital bed with tubes.”

Wayne thought Tyler, The Creator had been shot on the contrary Tyler had been in a skateboarding accident. He said, “He sent me the clip after. It’s a clip of him trying to drop in.” Although Tyler made the situation sound light to Wayne, the clips shared and with Wayne’s description of the incident it was evident that it was quite serious, and Tyler, The Creator had to seek immediate medical attention. Wayne later said that he was glad Tyler was all right. He said to Tyler, “Man I’m glad that you’re ok that you’re the one that’s texting me”.

The intertwined love between skateboarding and music

Lil Wayne’s passion for skateboarding soared when he was named a pro skater in 2022. His passion to the sport is clear, from showing his abilities at an indoor skate park to receiving a surprise pro-model skateboard. Lil Wayne’s love for skateboarding and adoration for Tony Hawk are no secret. Just like Lil Wayne, Tyler, The Creator has been achieving great heights in music and skateboarding.
