The first to perform the 900 degrees aerial spin trick, Tony Hawk is a skateboarding legend. Interestingly, once, Boxing legend Mike Tyson spoke of an amazing ‘Jesus Cross’ skateboarding stunt during a fun conversation with Kelly Slater and Tony Hawk. The stunt involved an impressive high jump and the skateboarder who did this stunt was disclosed.


Mike Tyson told how he saw this stunt in a documentary. Further speaking, he narrated that the stunt was shot in California or Venice. .

 “He did a move where he was on some concrete that was stupid and he jumped off the concrete and went up and did a Jesus on a cross,” Tyson spoke. After Tyson’s statement, Tony Hawk was quick to point out that it was Christian Hosoi who did the stunt. Christian Hosoi was a popular American skateboarder in the 1980s. Tony Hawk also added that the ‘Jesus Cross’ was Christian’s signature move.

Further speaking, Hawk recounted that Hosoi was his friend and competitor during the 1980s. He also recalled his skateboarding days when he and Hosoi would secure the top 2 spots in skateboarding competitions.

While comparing their skateboarding style, Hawk said, “He was all style and all flair. I was like the skinny robot trick guy.” The skateboarding legend also talked about Christian’s hard times and the fact that Christian had bounced back and was still skating.

In another Facebook post, Tony Hawk once again talked about Christian Hosoi. “In all of our decades of skating [and competing] together, Christian Hosoi and I never rode a ramp at the same time with the intention of doing doubles until recently.” This reflects that Hawk has still kept in contact with his old friend and competitor.

 

The skateboarding champion also admitted that Christian Hosoi was one of his biggest competitors. Despite this fact, Tony said that he loved Christian, and they also went on tours together.
