Legendary American snowboarder Shaun White decided to hang up his gloves for good this year. The three-time Olympic gold medalist decided to retire from snowboarding after the Beijing Winter Olympics.
However, for Shaun, that didn’t mean rest, as he would be managing several projects going forward. Nevertheless, it does give him more time to spend with his girlfriend of three years, popular actress Nina Dobrev.
In fact, ever since his retirement, Shaun and Nina have been spending more time together, including vacations, events, and parties. Apparently, all this time together has put some ideas into Nina’s mind as well.

After Shaun White retiring, Nina Dobrev dwells following suit
Shaun White recently enjoyed a few days on vacation in Costa Rica with his girlfriend Nina Dobrev. The two shared multiple drool-worthy pictures of their luxurious trip to the country.
Today, Nina posted yet another pair of images of herself with White on the beach. The pictures were heartwarming, with the couple cozying it up in the sand.

However, what caught fans’ attention, was the caption Nina wrote. “Shit, if this is retired life, should I retire too?” the 33-year-old pondered out loud.
Clearly, both Nina Dobrev and Shaun White are stoked about getting to spend more time with each other. After all, a world-class athlete and a Hollywood star’s calendars don’t leave a lot of time for leisure.

Thus, it only makes sense that Nina, too, is considering quitting, in order to lay back and enjoy life more, especially with her beau. In fact, Shaun White very recently even talked about considering tying the nuptial knot with Dobrev, stating how they are finally getting more time together.
White is proud of his Olympic achievements
In an interview with Kate Snow, Shaun White expressed how as an athlete, the competitor inside him has always wanted to accomplish more. Nevertheless, he is happy to have won three Olympic gold medals over the course of five Winter Olympics.
Shaun White is the only male snowboarder in history to successfully defend his Olympic gold medal. Moreover, he also holds the record for the most number of X-Games and Olympic gold medals by a snowboarder.

At the end of his career, White is proud and happy to have won three Olympic gold medals. Furthermore, despite not being able to win a medal at the Beijing Winter Olympics, White was proud of his performance.
Talking to Kate Snow, he expressed that he was grateful “to just be there at this age and ride with these younger competitors, almost at the podium”.
