Apart from being an extraordinary snowboarder, Shaun White is also a sensational skateboarder. When Tony Hawk was the god of skateboarding, Shaun White was that to snowboarding. However, he also had a stunning career as a skateboarder, with Hawk as his mentor. An able skateboarder, nonetheless, White wanted to take part in the Summer Olympics. But, there was a catch.

With his main event being in the vertical ramp competition, there was no discipline as such at the Summer Olympic Games.
What stops Shaun White from taking part in Summer Olympics?
Back at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, White prepared himself to take part in the Olympics. With the sport making its debut in the event, it had only disciplines in the park and street skating contests. With White’s major expertise coming on the vertical ramp, he pulled off from the event.
Having little experience with the park events, White shifted his attention to the Winter Olympics. There are no decisions made on whether vert will be incorporated in the Olympics. Hence, White focused his attention elsewhere.

Having made his final appearance in the snowboarding competition, with Shaun White, anything can happen. He is still in good shape and one may never know what happens. By winning three Olympic gold medals, he is one of the best snowboarders in the world. But, his skateboarding career is up there as well.

He had always spoken highly of how snowboarding helps his skateboarding career. Thus, he has won the gold medal in 2007, silver in 2005, and bronze in 2008 in the vertical ramp competition. After the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, he won another silver medal in 2010 and ended his skateboarding career in 2011, after claiming a gold medal. White’s dominance in both these events is legendary.
