Currently, the sport that is amassing a lot of attention with its anticipation level is wheelchair rugby. The USA wheelchair rugby team is brimming with confidence at the Parapan Am Games in Santiago, Chile after a recent win.
This win meant different for the team as they secured a place in the Paris Olympics after the win. The USA team beautifully redeemed themselves and one of their players was seen expressing his gratitude during Thanksgiving for this win.
A Thanksgiving triumph in wheelchair rugby

The Parapan American Games was held in 39 venues across the Santiago Metropolitan Region and three regions of Chile. The American team, after winning, made sure to make the world aware of their powerful redemption against the Canadian team. Announcing the news on their X with a clip, Team USA wrote, “QUALIFY FOR PARIS 2024 ON THANKSGIVING DAY IN CHILE.”?Its player Chuck Aoki was featured speaking on the video.

Aoki while rejoicing in their exceptional win, stated, “We just qualified for Paris! Let’s go!”. With utmost excitement, he added, “It is Thanksgiving day, so I’m going to munch on some turkey, celebrate, thank you for all your support”.
The team booked their Paralympic spot by defeating Canada by a score of 57-51 to win Parapan Am Games gold. The Canadian team left the podium with a silver and has one chance left to earn a spot at the Paris Olympics. This is an extra special win for the US team as they redeemed themselves gracefully after their previous loss against the Canadians.

A shattering loss to arch-rival Canada
The previous match of Team USA was not as expected at the Parapan American Games, Santiago. Even after extreme effort, they couldn’t make it to gold in the preliminary round against the Canadians. The undefeated US team was defeated by Canada with a score of 46-41. Most of the score was gathered by the dominant player of the day Zak Madell.

He scored 30 of them from 45 and led the path of win for his team. It was not a night expected for the US Team. After this win, Madell expressed, “This is a long-standing rivalry, so we’re always looking forward to playing this team, Today I think we had a little more energy than them”. However, the American team gave the answer with a powerful comeback and proved their place in this long-standing rivalry.
