“I Stepped On…”: Shaun White’s Mother Faces a Hilarious Oops Moment at Oscars 2022

The Oscars are the most awaited awards each year. Only a few are lucky enough to get invited to the red carpet event. While most of these are actors and people involved with the Academy, there are few who get invited based on their talent. Shaun White is one of them. The 3-time Olympic champion was named as one of the presenters this year at the Oscars.

At first, it was assumed that girlfriend Nina Dobrev would accompany Shaun White to the Oscars. However, White has revealed that Nina could not be there for the awards. Therefore, White took his beloved mother to the Academy Awards. And it’s safe to say, the two had a blast!

Shaun White took to his Instagram to document his whole Oscars journey. Both the mother and son duo twinned in their black outfits. Cathy appeared equally excited to accompany her son to his first Oscars.

“Alright, big day; Oscars. Heading off to the big show and I have got this wonderful date…my mom,” said Shaun while Cathy dropped her purse. White had a quick laugh at this before they headed off to the Dolby Theatre.  Before leaving, White asked his fans to wish him luck for his first time at the Oscars.

White posted several stories on his Instagram account. White and his mother become the perfect definition of “first time at the Oscars” with some chaotic energy. However, the two had super fun.

In a hilarious incident, Cathy White stepped on Rosie Perez’s dress.

“Mom, what just happened? You stepped on Rosie Perez’s dress?” asked White. Cathy replied in full panic mode saying “I stepped on Rosie Perez’s dress.”

“She was like ‘excuse me, excuse me’ and I wasn’t to pay attention and she couldn’t move, she was stuck,” revealed Cathy White. However, these are all part of the fun and the incident was not intentional.

White reassures his mother

Such incidents happen sometimes and are no big deal. Shaun reassured his mother by saying that it was completely okay.

“That’s okay. It’s gonna happen. It’s gonna happen, just say sorry and we move on,” reassured Shaun.

Cathy White also laughed it away commenting on how there is “no safe zone” at the Oscars. Shaun and his mother grabbed some really good seats to witness the 94th edition of the Oscars. White later went ahead to present a tribute to James Bond along with Tony Hawk and Kelly Slater.
