The Central Wyoming Rodeo event has come to an end. This year the event distributed  $320,000 in prize amount over the seven rodeo events. Interestingly, this rodeo is one of the oldest events of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, which attracts talent from all over the world.

This year, many notable rodeos won prizes in the various events, but all eyes were on Jess Pope. The rodeo star, whose worth is over a million dollars, managed to make a name in a very short time. The world champion participated in a bareback bronc riding event and didn’t disappoint his fans.

The world champion started the competition with a good start. In the first round of bareback bronc riding, he secured a fourth position with 84.5 points and $1,173 in earnings. In the final round, he secured the first position on Prairie Fire with 89 points and $1,650 in earnings. On average, he won with 173.5 points on two heads and  $3,198 in earnings. Cole Franks secured the second position with 170 points and $2,452 in earnings. Will Lowe and Weston Timberman tied for the third position with 167 points and each earning $1,492.

Speaking on his win, the current world champion said, “Momentum is a big thing coming out of here“. The pro rodeo had a tough challenge in front of him but he was ready for it. He had no prior experience with Prairie Fire, which busted out of the gate and was airborne to toss him off, but Jess managed it pretty well. Speaking on Fire he said, “I was a little bit nervous because she bucked really hard and got up in the air, If you stub your toe it’s not going to go good. But it turns out it was pretty good for me today“.

Jess Pope’s rodeo career

The cowboy came to the event after participating in Casper and Sheridan WYO rodeo winning needed momentum for the coming events, which he got after winning Central Wyoming Rodeo. He further said, “I had a tough start to the summer this year, But we’ve got some good rodeos coming up so it’s good to get a win under my belt now and kind of remind a guy that he can win“. So far he has earned  $62,267 this season and holds the 13th position in world standing. The upcoming rodeo events for the cowboy are in Idaho, Utah, Cheyenne Frontier, and National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.

Jess Pope’s started the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association career after enlisting in 2018. The same year he won the Permit Members of the Year Challenge, which was held in Las Vegas with 153 points on two heads. From 2018 till now Pope has won incredible feats like a world championship in 2022, three NFR qualifications with NFR average title from 2020 to 2022. At just twenty-four years of age, the young rodeo’s total earnings are over a million dollars.
