When talking about the best bull riders, one name that crosses everyone’s mind is JB Mauney. He is one of the toughest cowboys in this arena and his prowess speaks for itself. After attaining multiple world championships, he competed full-time in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). However, the toughest cowboy is ending his bull-riding career after an unfortunate incident and the rodeo world couldn’t be sadder.

JB Mauney shared a post on his social media account announcing the news and the reason behind it. His fans cannot accept the fact that the best of all time in bull-riding will no longer be seen in competitions. It is a saddening news for the entire rodeo community, and it will take them some time to recover from such a huge news.

Seeing a talented individual leave the ground they excel in is extremely sad. Similar is the situation with the rodeo world seeing JB Mauney leave the bull-riding world. The rider met with an unfortunate accident recently at the Lewiston Round-up Division 2 Xtreme Bulls event where he sustained major injuries. He was thrown by a bull named Arctic Assassin on the 6th of September 2023. He was immediately taken to the hospital suspecting that he had broken his neck.

Mauney went through surgery for the same on the 8th of September and its results declared the end of his career. Mauney took to his Instagram handle for announcing his retirement news. The caption carried, “All I can say is it’s been quite a party!” He further mentioned about surgery that he went through after the accident. After it, his neck required a rod, plates, screws, and the removal of a disc. The surgery was successful, however, this marked the end of this bull-riding career.

Mauney also added, “Unfortunately with the surgery it ended my bull-riding career, just wanted to let everyone know that I am ok and now on the road to recovery!” This is rather sad news and the internet, and his fans are shocked with the decision. To embrace his journey, they have poured their love for the ‘Dragon Slayer’ in this post.

The rodeo world would have never thought that they would witness the retirement of JB Mauney this early. His post has left his fans shocked and emotional. They have taken to the comment section to show him what he meant to the bull-riding world. The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) were the first to comment at his post, they expressed, “The sport of bull riding will never be the same. Thank you for the countless memories and unforgettable moments!” Following this, another fan wrote, “The GOAT.”

There is no one in this arena who is not taken aback with this news. They have nothing but love for the rodeo star. One of the fans commented, “A career that will go down in the record books my friend.” Appreciating his skills, another one said, “Congrats on an impeccable career, my hats off to you cowboy.”
