The video is shared by 31-year-old O’Connel himself on his Facebook page with the caption, “Tonight in the short round of the Snake River Stampede, I was 87.5 on On Your Own from Cervi Championship Rodeo to place 2nd in the round and 2nd for the rodeo.” In the video, he is seen participating in bareback riding, and as soon as he enters the arena, the horse tries his best to flip him over, but he holds on to the horse and makes it to the end. He finishes his run with an impressive time of 87.5 and receives a round of applause from the crowd.
As is evident from the caption, he finished the event in second place for the Cervi Championship Rodeo. He was performing at the historic arena of the Snake River Stampede, which is held in Nampa, Idaho. The Snake River Stampede is one of the top rodeo events in the world and has received recognition from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. After performing so well in this historic event, O’Connell has added another feather to his already magnificent career.

O’Connell’s professional career so far
This cowboy made his professional debut in 2012, and in his 39 attempts that year, he qualified for 33 rides and also had five 85-pointers with 10 go-round wins in the same year of his debut. He kept polishing his skills, and in the year 2016, he achieved the top position in the world standings, and in the same year, in 104 attempts, he had 98 qualified rides with 26 go-round wins.

For three consecutive years in 2016, 2017, and 2018, he maintained his top ranking in the world standings and kept improving his figures. 2017 was the year when he scored 90-point rides for the first time. His career is worth over $2,439,990, and La Fiesta De Los Vaqueros, Clark County Fair & Rodeo, Woodward Oklahoma Elks Rodeo, etc. are some of the major championships he has under his belt. He has been declared World Champion Bareback Rider three times.
