The staff behind the scenes is what makes bull riding events enjoyable for spectators and easy to engage in for the riders. The crew who assist control the crowd, the hosts who hype up the event. One of the most important groups inside management is the Bull Fighters.

When riders fall off or get off their bulls, bullfighters risk their lives to protect them. Bringing the bull riders to safety is really crucial since the bulls’ extreme aggression may be fatal. One such hero is seen in action, saving people’s lives, in an Instagram video by PBR. If these bulls are so vicious, how can these guys keep them under control?

Lucas Teodoro, saving lives at bull riding events

Among these bullfighters is Lucas Teodoro, who arrived in the community intending to become a bullrider but instead became a fighter. He had spent around three years in preparation for his career as a bull rider. When a bullfighter urged him to fight in the arena, he finally understood that his true calling was not riding but rather fighting.

A video of Lucas rescuing a bull rider was posted to Instagram by the PBR’s official account. After struggling for a few seconds, the bull rider who fell off his mount lost his balance and went tumbling to the ground. The rider sprang to his feet and attempted to flee for the safety of the perimeter. When he left, the enraged bull pursued him with his horns down, ready to mow him down. Lucas jumped in to provide his expertise.

The veteran’s first rodeo was at the youthful age of 16 when he competed as a bullfighter. Ten years later, he joined the Brazilian PBR events after working there. Since he was a kid, he’s had a burning desire to go to the United States. He spent some time studying English before relocating to Terrell, Texas.

Bullfighter’s heroic rescue defines safety

Teodoro, being the skilled professional that he is, prevented the rider from getting gored by the bull’s horns. Lucas saved the rider’s life by getting him to the stands before the bull could finish off the hapless rider. The bull’s charge was diverted thanks to his fast thinking. The little pause allowed the rider to quickly scale the fences. The bull then further stormed around the ring before being stopped.
