It was Arizona Ridge Riders’ turn to overtake the rodeo community over the weekend and they did so with a spectacle. From the 29th to the 1st of October, Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale welcomed all 8 teams of the PBR Team Series for a rumble; pacing up spots to get ahead in the match. Team or individual, each stood to make a mark.

As Arizona Ridge Riders took to the ground on the second night of the Ridge Rider Days, the team came in for a win. With the finals on the brink, each team knew nothing but to set the best foot forward. And the Ridge Riders jumping in for an opportunity, performed to dominate the ground. While the team played, the Canadian youngster led the night saddling up.

Rodeo sensation takes the spotlight

On the 30th of September, it was the Ridge Riders against the Thunders. The team having stumbled last night entered the arena with an only option to win. The Canadian bull rider, Nick Tetz, mindful of the situation jump started to put on a performance that would let the team earn just what they needed.

Starting early in the performance, Nick rode atop Crooked Nose to earn an 89.50-point ride; the highest of the game. His performance not only gave the team a solid lead but also gained him the WSM Auctioneers award for the night. His performance improved the team’s score from 10-13 to 11-13; helping them move up a spot on the team standings.

However, that wasn’t the only evening Nick took to the podium to shine. The youngster striked again the following day as they went head on against Oklahoma Freedom. Nick riding atop Crunch Time scored a total of 87.75 points. The score put the Ridge Riders on board and helped the rider earn the WSM Auctioneers Ride of the Night once again. Though Nick has earned consecutive points for the team, Vitor Lonsake continues to remain the lead rider of the team. But that doesn’t concern the rider as he persists to put on great ones an event after another.

Nick Tetz shares his thoughts

Nick Tetz, as the youngster he is, reigned as the 2022 PBR Canada Champion. Carrying on his talent, the rider has contributed his side of the share to the Ridge Riders. And when he performed Saturday night, the crowd had no trouble recognizing the Canadian worthy of his title. “It always feels good to get the job done in front of the home crowd,” Tetz said, talking to PBR. He further added, “(The pressure to perform) doesn’t really affect me. Maybe some guys. For me, it kind of fires me up a little more. I don’t feel like there are any extra nerves…”

Besides playing for the Ridge Riders, Nick also goes back and forth participating for the PBR Canada. Juggling between his two associations, Tetz revealed that he’ll be looking forward to competing at Saskatoon, as well as the Touring Pro. “My team has been really good about allowing me to miss here and there to stay in the race. If this wasn’t our home event, I would probably be in Grande Prairie this weekend…”

Nick Tetz missing out on the Canadian Championship lost his title to Dakota Buttar on Sunday morning. Due to his absence the youngster slipped to the 3rd in standings behind by 22 points to the leader. That stumble however did not disappoint the rider. According to PBR, Nick stays dedicated to winning championships and events alike.
