Rodeo and UFC arguably require some of the strongest statures in sports to sustain the field. Where one side showcases combat skills, the other faces off against massive, untamed bulls. While one may not have questioned comparing the two sports, UFC midweight Champion, Sean Strickland had a newer idea in the recently surfaced video.

Sean has dominantly made his professional presence in the sport since 2008. Working his way up, Sean was named King of the Cage Middleweight Champion and more recently, he ranked 8th in the?UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings. Though the martial artist remains successful in his persisting field, there is no stopping his curious mind. In a recently surfaced video, Sean can be seen confronting the possibility of stepping into the grounds of another sport.

Sean Strickland suggests an unlikely crossover

The UFC midweight champion has been on a hiatus due to an injury he sustained in his UFC 293 fight against Israel Adesanya. During his time off, Sean may as well be finding a new hobby to fill in the space as per a surfacing Twitter video. In a post shared by Combat Sports Today, Sean can be seen making an interesting suggestion as he talks with UFC president Dana White’s bull handler.

“I will go to my grave saying bull riders are the toughest athletes in the world,” Dana White’s bull handler can be heard remarking. As the camera pans away and moves back on to focus on the bull rider, Sean can be seen getting in the frame. “I’ll tell you what bull riders, I am a fan of the PBR, I am a fan of this man. I love it. But I will ride your bull, and then you come spar me.”

As the audience cheered by the end of the video and Sean ended with ‘let’s do it,’ there seems to be an anticipated possibility of the crossover becoming a reality; and interestingly so atop a notable bull.

Twisted Steel: Sean’s likely rodeo competitor

Dana White has been known as a staunch bull-riding fan over the years. The president of UFC has owned several bulls and extended his support toward the sport for the past few years. Currently, White owns a bull named the Twisted Steel. The Animal athlete had made its presence at the UFC headquarters before making it to the renowned organization as a notable bull.

White rode on Twisted Steel back in 2016 and instantly got hooked on the sport. Since then, White has aimed at buying bulls and most importantly getting them into PBR. Fortunately, Twisted Steel finally made it to the PBR and the website states that the bull has been making quite the name for itself. Twisted Steel currently holds the world standings rank at 121 with an average score of 42.7.

If Sean were to ride on Twisted Steel, he would be riding atop a bull with a buckoff percentage of 94. Watching the two leading athletes in action would be a sight not to miss.
