Fairgrounds are probably the epitome of entertainment on some laid-back days. And add an evening of your favorite sport to it – It’s one place you’d rather be. Providing the same for the rodeo enthusiasts of Pennsylvania, the town of Bloomsburg is celebrating the 168th anniversary of the Bloomsburg Fair; hosting parades, sky rides, food, demo Derby, and more with an exciting sporting event to the list.

The Bloomsburg Fair announced its annual fair dates scheduled from the 22nd of September to the 30th of September. While the fair is set to host events common to the rest of the festivals, Bloomberg will be adding a special event. On the 5th day of the fair, the fairgrounds entailed the inclusion of Bull-Riding Mania; the most awaited amongst all. Returning to the event will also be the native and famed rodeo clown, Bergey, preparing to executive just in the evening.

Bloomsburg Fair announces the return of the event

The Bloomsburg fair took to Facebook to announce one of its most exciting events of day 5. The event will be joining a coveted lineup through the entire 9 days of the fair. This includes Starship and Richard Marx, Country rock star Brantley Gilbert, and Grammy-winning Christian rocker Zach Williams.

However, on the evening of the 26th, it is the bull riding mania for the people of Bloomsburg and Pennsylvania.

Announcing the excitement on Facebook, the Fair’s page shared a post, describing the order of the event. Captioning the post, the page wrote, “Day #5 brings an exciting night of action Bullride Mania is back tonight for 2023…And PA Native Rodeo Clown Jason “Buckshot” Bergey!”

Marking the start of the event, the doors of the Weis Grandstand will be opening at 5:30. With all the audience seated, the show will begin at 6:30 PM. The scheduled event will only host the bull-riding event, but will also include Barrel Racing and mutton busting. Making it additionally appealing to the attendees, the event will see the presence of the famed rodeo clown, Jason Bergey.

Here’s what the rodeo event will hold

On the 26th, the Bull-riding mania welcomed a total of 60 participants. 20 of whom were bull riders and 40 contended for the barrel racing. “Watch as riders go up against an animal weighing more than a ton and are as quick as they are big,” the fair said in a press release according to Northcentral PA.

They further added, “Upper body strength and strong legs are essential to have a successful run. Judges will take notice of good body position, timing, and other factors to determine a final score.”As for the second event of the evening, the judges will be on the lookout for horsemanship and speed.  “Victories can be won by just a hundredth of a second, making this an edge-of-your-seat event.” It further added.

Coming to the captivating point of the evening, Jason Bergey will be taking the title. The rodeo clown, also called Buckshot, is a famed rodeo star of the town. Jason, making his rodeo presence in 2017 as a bullfighter, has made his way to APRA, IBR, and IPRA. But when his boss Shawn encouraged him to try out clowning, Jason found his niche. “I’m a new-school guy, but I also like to bring the old-school stuff back to the new era…I like to dance so that’s also what I bring in.” Jason said according to Rodeo News.

Be it fighting the bulls or reading the crowd, Jason has been the best in the room. Now going ahead, the rodeo star wishes to do shows APRA Finals and the PBR. The PBR or the Bloomsburg Fair, Jason knows to hold the crowd and exude his presence. The bull-riding mania audience besides doting over bull-riders and barrel-racing competitors will also rush in to see the rodeo clown.
